Memory Verse 6: 1 Corinthians 15:58

58 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.  --1 Corinthians 15:58

Genesis 1:26-28 & 2:15

1:26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
27 So God created mankind in his own image,
    in the image of God he created them;
    male and female he created them.
28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

2:15 The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.

My church will spend the next few weeks covering Genesis.  Now, if you're anything like me, you may think you have a pretty decent understanding of how it all went down in the beginning.  I know I did.  However, God is totally blowing my mind right now.

These verses are truly flattering, and reveal so much of God's character. Again, if you're anything like me, you have at some point wondered, "who am I?...who is the real me?".  The only way to answer that question is to ask, "who is God?".   In order to know and understand ourselves, we must know and understand God.  We must pay attention to His character.

I am beyond flattered that when creating everything, God chose to create us in His image, a direct reflection of Himself.  Truly beautiful.  His character revealed is definitely one of creativeness, planning, orderliness and above all, generosity. God didn't have to create all of the marvelously intricate things that He did, but He did because He is generous.  He gives more than what is needed for functionality.

In Genesis 2:15, we see that God placed man in the garden to work.  Work is our purpose. It is why we were created.  Work is a blessing in which we should delight as part of the body of Christ.  God is constantly at work.  He is constantly connected to us.  He delights in our willingness to work.

Give. Generously.

in His love,
Claire

Memory Verse 5: Matthew 11:28-30

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”  --Matthew 11:28-30

Memory Verse 4: John 8:12

 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”  --John 8:12

Memory Verse 3: John 5:44

 How can you believe since you accept glory from one another but do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?  --John 5:44

Memory Verse 2: Romans 8: 38-39

38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.  --Romans 8: 38-39

Memory Verse 1: Psalm 111:10

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
    all who follow his precepts have good understanding.
    To him belongs eternal praise.  --Psalm 111:10

Verse Memorization with the Bestie!

So my best friend Tracy...is the best! :) We were chatting earlier today about the luxuries, conveniences, etc that people are choosing to fast from as a means to focus on the Lord in the coming weeks.  She was saying texting, while I was saying chocolate...two HUGE deals to us. haha  However, I think the Spirit gave her a WAY better idea for the both of us.  We will both give up time...and learn more from the Lord by doing so.  We will alternate days on selecting a bible verse that we feel led to share, and both then strive to memorize the verse.

I am super excited to share in the Word with my best friend as we grow closer to one another and to Christ! Yay!  I will attempt to share as much as possible! :)
Meet my beloved accountabilibuddy!

We are best friends because...

We both love sunshine!
dessert!

& fruity drinks!
oh, and because she's famous...

Love you, Sister! :)
